With the 5+ hours of travel time it took us to get from San Diego to Tampa FL I decided to take it upon myself to learn a new project. Cheryl of the blog, FlowerCottageGirl sent me a pattern to test a couple weeks prior and can I say I love the pattern! I knocked out a couple of these before we landed.

Katelyn (my daughter who’s 3) and my niece Sydney (on the left who’s 6), wore these the whole time we where in Florida. I wasn’t sure how long it would last in my daughter’s hair as she has a tendency to yank out anything that gets attached to her hair but once on she completely forgets about it. The pattern is super easy to follow, I highly recommend going on over to to her Etsy Shop and giving it a go. They make a perfect Easter gift or accessory to any little gals Easter outfit. I did make a slight change to the width of the band and would be happy to go give you the info just comment in the blog if interested in the modification.

{A little practice before I take a stab at the real thing}

I’m at it again! I have a friend that’s having a baby soon and I thought it would be fun to crochet a handmade gift for the little guy. Above is a picture of a little practice piece I worked on before I took a stab at the real thing. Have any of you tried the ripple stitch? I have to say, once I got the hang of it, it was easy. Lucy of Attic24 is so kind and generous to share her pattern. Thanks Lucy!

{ A Crocheted Gift Pouch }

It was a friend’s birthday last week and she just loves crocheting. She has been really supportive of my new obsession so I decided to crochet her a little gift pouch with a flower. What do you guys think?! It was really easy to whip up and I love the fact it could be used again and again.

I love this new DIY project from the super creative duo over at a Spoonful of Sugar, Breakfast in Bed. The tutorial consists of a tea cosy, tray cloth, and napkin with crocheted edge. There are so many cute little details, like the fabric flower appliques, crocheted flowers and of course the crocheted edge on the napkins. I don’t know how to crochet but after seeing this adorable project I feel I may need to teach myself how!

So how are everyone’s Mother’s Day projects coming along? Both my mom and my mother-in-law have their Birthday’s within days of Mother’s Day so I have a ton of projects in the works!
