{Book Review of Kaffe Fassett’s latest quilting book and a Book Giveaway! }

Good morning all! I’ve had the honor of reviewing Kaffe Fassett latest quilting book, Simple Shapes Spectacular Quilts and it is stunning. I love how he draws from the world around him for inspiration. The book consists of 23 original quilt designs and they are incredible! He uses both organic designs like his quilt, Floral Snowballs to very linear designs like, Stripescape. He has a nice range of quilts for the beginner all the way up to the expert. I’m inspired by so many things — you should see the notebooks that I keep at my desk! Right now it’s a photo album from my childhood. The colors in the photographs just look so different than photos today. Were the 70s really that vibrant?
Hi, I am inspired by nature, I love the flowers and trees, the colors they have during its life cycle. I like the use of color, I think abuse of it.
I’m inspired by nature & everyday objects….color & texture draw me in to look closer at the details!
I am inspired by nature as well, by the broad sweeps of color on a stormy beach or the washes of color in a sunset sky.
